I love to cook

So if you know me you know I love to cook. I thought that this year I would try to put up 1 new recipe a week for you. It is also a way for me to get my recipes written down instead of just keeping them in my head. You see I tend to make them up as I go and I don't always write them down afterwards so here goes. And yes I know I am starting a few weeks after the new year but it's better to be late than sorry.

Jalapeno Poppers with a twist

Ingredients
- Jalapenos * as many as you need but they go fast so get a lot (medium size and all around the same size)

- 1 8oz. block of Cream Cheese

- 1 package of Owens Beef Sausage

- Shredded cheddar cheese

- Southwest seasoning ( I used the Pampered Chef brand but you can use whatever you want)

Directions

1) Cook the sausage and set aside to cool completely.

2) Combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, southwest seasonings and sausage.

4) Cut the bacon in half and place on a plate and cover with a paper towel and cook in the microwave for about 2 t0 3 minutes.

5) Slice the Jalapenos in half and take the seeds out. It works best if you have rubber gloves so you don't get the juices on your hands. * I did this the night before and just put them in a zip lock bag.

6) Stuff the Jalapenos with cream cheese mixture and wrap with the bacon slices and secure with a tooth pick.

7) Put in a 350 degree oven and cook until the bacon is done!

8) Enjoy!!!!!

* On a side note you could also serve the cream cheese, cheddar cheese and sausage mixture as a dip.
